Fifty Year anniversary of the Wave Hill Walk-off

This week marks the 50th anniversary of the 'Wave Hill walk off', a defining moment in the struggle for Aboriginal land rights. In August 1966, 200 Aboriginal workers walked off the Wave Hill cattle station in the Northern Territory, protesting against poor working conditions and unpaid wages.


City of Darebin Community Conversations about renaming of Batman Park

Darebin City Council and the Wurundjeri Tribe Land Compensation and Cultural Heritage Council (Wurundjeri Council), invite the general public to join Aboriginal Elders in a series of community conversations to discuss the renaming of Batman Park.


August Local Groups Forum

ANTaR Victoria is hosting the next Local Groups Forum at the Father Tucker Centre in Fitzroy, right beside their headquarters behind the Brotherhood of St Laurence. The forum, supported by Reconciliation Victoria, will be an opportunity for local group members from across Victoria to gather and discuss past, present and future practices that look to furthering our collective cause for a reconciled nation.

Reconciliation Victoria AGM and Annual Statewide Forum

Our AGM is being held in conjunction with ANTaR Victoria’s AGM and a Reconciliation Forum, with guest speaker Clare Land and entertainment by Monica Weightman and friends.  Morning tea and Lunch will be provided.


Protests against forced closures

The third global call to action to stop the forced closures of remote Aboriginal communities takes place 26 - 28 June.  Once again there will be rallies happening all over Australia.
