Reconciliation Action Plans are a Reconciliation Australia program. Reconciliation Victoria encourages organisations in Victoria to develop their own RAP and share our monthly eNews and Facebook page with their staff for access to local news and resources. What Are they?

Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) are a formal statement of commitment to reconciliation. RAPs can be developed by any organisation, and make a difference across Australia in workplaces, universities, schools, government and community organisations. By providing a reconciliation framework for organisations, RAPs build and encourage strong relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and the broader Australian community. RAPs can help foster and embed respect within your organisation, as well as provide all participants with greater cultural awareness and professional development.

Workplace

RAPs help support an organisation’s business plan, by helping to develop respectful relationships and create meaningful opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  It includes practical actions that will drive an organisation’s contribution to reconciliation both internally and in the communities in which it operates.For more information on how to develop a RAP for your workplace, visit the RAP section of the Reconciliation Australia website.

SCHOOLS AND EARLY LEARNING

Narragunnawali is a resource that supports schools and early learning services to develop environments that foster a high level of knowledge and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions.   The Narragunnawali platform is free to access, and has a range of features – including an extensive suite of professional learning and curriculum resources – to support the development, implementation and management of Reconciliation Action Plans.
