In 2023 the NAIDOC Committee asks, “how will you celebrate For Our Elders?”.

The theme this year addresses the important role our Elders have continued to play in our families and communities for countless generations.

To celebrate For Our Elders, we recognise their rich knowledge and experience, their strength and resilience. Paving the way forward for future generations through advocacy and human rights advancement, striving to improve health and wellbeing and connection to culture.

We honour the tireless political campaigners, educators, artists, health workers, guardians and the myriad of other positions Elders hold in our society.

Continuously providing us with warmth and comfort, guidance and understanding. Through continued knowledge sharing and cultural connection, our Elders are the culmination of what uplifts our communities and helps our culture thrive.
