What are the Treaty Toolkits?

Reconciliation Victoria are thrilled to announce the launch of our Treaty Toolkits. A series of guides to engaging with and supporting Treaty in Victoria, designed for Local Government, Community Organisations and Schools & Early Learning Centres.

Reconciliation Victoria has long supported the aspirations of First Peoples in calling for self-determination. We believe Treaty will be the most significant step towards self-determination ever taken in Victoria and that Treaty possibilities will strengthen reconciliation pathways and progress.

To support the wider community to meaningfully engage with Treaty, three Toolkits have been developed providing specific information, support and actions for Local Government, Community Organisations and Schools & Early Learning Centres outlining ways they can support Treaty advancement in Victoria. Each toolkit outlines the Treaty Journey so far and provides an overview and actions for people and organisations to strengthen their relationships with Treaty through Reconciliation Victoria's 5 Dimensions of Reconciliation: Cultural Safety, Equitable Outcomes, A New Statewide Identity, Ensuring Accountability and Addressing Historical Injustice.

We strongly encourage everyone to read, utilise and share the Treaty Toolkits. These resources are grounded in Reconciliation Victoria's core goals, and aim to provide support for individuals, organisations and institutions to move forward alongside and in support of the Treaty journey.

Treaty is for all Victorians and allow us to come together, share and listen so we can build a deeper understanding and a foundation of mutual respect on the journey towards reconciliation.
