National Walk for Truth Education Resource

The National Walk for Truth was an epic 905km walk advocating fo ra national truth-telling process for healing, justice and meaningful change.

Kerrupmara Gunditjmara man and Executive Director of theUniversity of Melbourne’s Centre for Truth Telling and Dialogue, Travis Lovett and his wife Renata walked (and swam) 905km (907.52km to be exact) from Parliament House in Naarm/Melbourne to Parliament House in Canberra. Thank you to the schools that joined the historic Walk!

We continue the call for truth-telling, we continue to walk together, and we invite you to join us too.

Travis and Reconciliation Victoria are proud to invite your school and early childhood centres to continue the walk and truth-telling in schools!

Host your own Kids Walk for Truth

🪧 Create your own Kids Walk for Truth. A guide has been provided in the slides to help you and your students to organise your own Walk. It could be a great Reconciliation Week activity and link to your RAP. Get the whole community involved!

LIVE Zoom with Travis

On Thursday 7th May we hosted a Zoom with an update and Q&A with Travis live on the National Walk for Truth after Travis had swum from Victoria to NSW! More information to come from this session. We had about 250 people join us including about 220 students! Thank you to all the schools and early learning centres for joining us.

LIVESTREAM the final walk

We livedstreamed on the final day Wednesday 27th May outside Parliament House, Canberra. People were able to witness the Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, then 'walk with' Travis up to Parliament House for the message stick handover and kangaroo skin open letter to Prime Minsiter Albanese and the speeches by the PM and Travis after his epic 907.52km walk! Teaching Resource
