Reconciliation Victoria launched NRW 23 with a wonderful exhibition celebrating late First Nations artist, Turbo Brown (Latje Latje) and his lasting relationships with local Brunswick store owner, Vince Sinni and Gunai Kurnai Elder Uncle Herb Patten.
Reconciliation Victoria collaborated with Vince to showcase Turbo's magnificent pieces. Artworks from Vince’s private collection which he has kept to ensure Turbo’s memory is kept alive. Uncle Herb Patten spoke candidly of his connection to Turbo, shared truths of Turbo's life and lovingly performed his gum leaf songs - even teaching attendees the craft.
We warmly thank Vince Sinni, Uncle Herb Patten, TOMS Place and Deans Art for supporting the event; and all who attended.
