NAIDOC Week 2025

NAIDOC Week 2025

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. Celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Each NAIDOC Week holds its own significance, but 2025 stands out as a landmark year - celebrating half a century of unity, cultural pride, and the enduring strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This 50th anniversary is a tribute to generations of storytelling, resistance, and shared identity.

The 2025 theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, shines a light on the future, honouring the resilience of our Elders and empowering the voices of young leaders who will carry forward the legacy of the world’s oldest living cultures.

You can access a full range of NAIDOC week resources via the NAIDOC website including The Supporting NAIDOC Toolkit. This toolkit provides guidance to help inspire your team, workplace, school, club or community group can celebrate National NAIDOC Week effectively. You can use this toolkit any time of the year, not just during National NAIDOC Week in July.

Reconciliation Victoria will be sharing community events during NAIDOC week through our July eNews letter. We would love to hear how you plan to celebrate NAIDOC week in 2025!
